Ladies & Gentlemen,

Your Neighborhood Council Selection is Self-Affirmation, the Board must follow the bylaws. The council does not have the authority to tell voters:

We prefer that you bring evidence of your Stakeholder status to the polling place, such as:

  1. CA Driver’s license or other photo-identification card showing residence within the Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council district (the District).
  2. Photo-identification issued by your employer within the District.
  3. Photo-identification with residence out-of-district, supplemented by:
    1. Mailing from the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk showing that your official polling place is within the District.
    2. Property tax bill showing ownership of property in the District.
    3. Letter from an organization within the District (such as a church or non-profit) stating that you are a member.
    4. Miscellaneous evidence (other than a photo ID) that shows you own a business within the District, are employed within the District, or have some other significant interest in the District.
With less than two hours until the polls open, it is imperative that you correct your website and communicate clearly that your Board Selection is Self-Affirmation, that voters will register and self-affirm their identity and their stakeholder status.

If it is the Board's wish to conduct their Selections using the Documentation process, that needs to be an action of the Board, not individuals or committees.
