Electioneering by candidates
This challenge is not complete without the following attached documents: Flyer.png, CA State Election Code Section 18370-18371.jpg and 11280Corbin.jpg

Per “Election Code of the City of LA” Section 103(a) “It is the duty of the City Clerk to superintend all elections, as provided for in Section 281(e) of the Charter and this Code, and the City Clerk may prescribe rules and regulations for the conduct of City elections in addition to those in this Code which are not in conflict with this Code and applicable Charter, State or Federal laws. “
State of California Election Codes Section 18370-18371 state explicitly that no electioneering can occur within 100ft of a Poll.  The assertion that a Pop Up Poll could have a different limit violates State Election Law. CA Section 18370 takes precedence in this case.

11280Corbin.jpg clearly shows what 100ft looks like specific to this property (red lines and labels).  The entire property is inside the 100ft limit.  Whether or not electioneering was taking place is not debatable.  The onsite EmpowerLA representative conducting the Poll confirmed to witnesses that she knew (was aware) electioneering was occurring inside the offices “in a cubical far enough away”.  This is incorrect as the entire building is “off limits”.
Therefore any dissemination of and discussion of voter lists (flyer.png) is prohibited.

Per Jay’s email there were a total of 60 votes obtained at this Pop Up Poll.  Approximately 10 came from legit stakeholders who are not employed onsite.  Those votes should stand.  The remaining 50 are illegal.
The approx 50 votes obtained at this Poll by employees of Toll Brothers and Coldwell Banker must be nullified as they were obtained illegally.  The precedence for this is the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council vote 2 years ago where voter status was revoked and votes nullified upon review.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
