Campaign Material IssuesInappropriate endorsements of candidate
Background:

Central San Pedro Neighborhood council held one of two scheduled (s)elections on 6/7/15 at three locations simultaneously:

Rancho Housing Authority  4:00 pm – 8:00pm
275 W. 1st
Anderson Senior Center  4:00 pm – 8:00pm
828 S. Mesa St
Cabrillo Avenue Elementary School   4:00 pm – 8:00pm
732 S. Cabrillo Ave.

On or about 6:30pm I parked my vehicle directly in front of a portable table that was set up with “Central San Pedro United Slates” herein after to be referred to as "United Slate", across the street from where the registration table was and at that time Alexander Hall was manning the station. I walked up to the table and looked down and took a slate flyer. I had seen the “United Slate” prior on social media, in Random Length’s News Publication owned by James Allen and in businesses throughout Central San Pedro. However, the slates that were given out on 6/7/15 at Anderson Park had an attachment affix by scotch tape which read “Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council Election, we also endorse these candidates that are not a part of the Central San Pedro United Slate, Lashanda Roberts, Veronica Njodinizeh, Tunette Powell…etc”. (Attached herein a photo of said Slate Flyer). At first glance the attachment is misleading to stakeholders. Central San Pedro (s)election were held on the same day as the primaries and in an attempt to pull record votes with limited time to educate stakeholders of the Neighborhood system. The opening line can be misread to appear that “Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council Elections”, support the additional candidates on the attachment.

Facts:

Section VIII in the DONE Election Manual Titled “Running Board Slates” states that “A group of candidates may run as a slate so long as all candidates provide written consent to agreeing to be on the slate.” On 5/4/2016 Tunette Powell agreed by written consent to run on a board slate with 14 other candidates’ (Attached herein said Slate Agreement). On 4/27/15 James Allen launched his Facebook page publicly announcing his slate mates. Receiving no prior consent from said candidates on the affix attachment, James Allen is in direct violation of said Section. On 5/10/15 I asked an incumbent why he was running on the “United Slate” he motioned that he had just been asked to run and sign an agreement on 5/7/15 and he became upset when I revealed to him that his named appeared on the “United Slate” on 4/27/15 before providing oral and written consent as he had stated. This is not the only case and in fact he prepared a slate without consent in the 2014 (s)elections. James Allen has proven to be dishonest, disrespectful to stakeholders and gives no regard for policy.
Remedy

I respectfully request that a letter of reprimand to all members of the “United Slate” and disqualification of all members of said slate unless proven otherwise by supporting documentation. All members of the “United Slate” had the duty to inspect, incorporate, provide feedback of all campaign material and notify the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, IEA and Poll Managers of any violations at the time they were made aware of said violation.  Based on the facts that I have provided and witnessed James Allen throughout the day driving around to all locations checking on his slate members, directing them and delegating duties. James Allen should be disqualified without question.

Lastly, due to the limited amount of evidence that I am able to submit to support my allegations I request that a representative contact me so that I can submit additional exhibits and supporting documentation.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
