Inappropriate endorsements of candidate
Palms Neighborhood Council (PNC) presidential candidate Marisa Stewart and her staff/supporters campaigned while wearing PNC Logo t-shirts at the pop-up poll located at the Motor Avenue Farmer’s Market on Sunday 5/22/16. The 2016 Election Manual and challenge criteria clearly prohibits the use of the “Explicit Use of City logo(s) for Campaign Materials by Candidate(s) (including LA City, EmpowerLA logo, Neighborhood Council logo, and any other City department logo)” to “prevent candidates or supporters of candidates from campaigning under the expressed or implied endorsement or authorization of the City, a City department, or a Neighborhood Council and prevent voter confusion.” Marisa and her campaign staff actively used PNC t-shirts in order to express to voters an endorsement by the Palms Neighborhood Council which causes confusion and presents an unfair advantage against the other candidates.
The candidate should be disqualified on the grounds that using the PNC logo provides a severe unfair advantage in her favor. The implied endorsement of the PNC in order to gain supporters is an unfair and fraudulent tactic and has no place on the PNC Board.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
