The Neighborhood Council of Westchester/Playa (NCWP) exists to help improve the quality of life in Westchester/Playa by providing a forum for community involvement and relationship building with Los Angeles City Council and other City departments. The NCWP provides recommendations to City Council and City departments and promotes citizen participation in government and to make City government more responsive to the needs of our stakeholders.
•    Involve our stakeholders in the decision making process through appropriate outreach and council activities and meetings.
•    Retain a sense of community (or unity) by building a stronger relationship with our stakeholders.
•    Listen and respond to the needs of all stakeholders.
•    Partner with community groups and businesses for more effective goal achievement.
•    Educate stakeholders about the role of the NCWP Board of Directors (the Board).
•    Improve methodology and outreach related to funding of NC grants and Community Improvement projects.
•    Ensure that Board and committee meetings are events that stakeholders want to attend and participate in, and where they feel that their concerns will be heard and addressed.
•    Make sure that meetings and activities are scheduled at times and places that are convenient for the community to attend.
•    Occasionally hold Board meetings in areas of interest to increase interest in NCWP matters and to increase attendance (e.g. Hold a meeting in Playa del Rey when discussing developments in that area).
•    Create an events calendar of community events scheduled throughout the year.
•    Consider different modes of publicizing NCWP activities and achievements.
•    Use social media and consider different modes of outreach.
•    Keep website up to date and informative to drive traffic.
•    Use elections as opportunities to generate interest and awareness.
•    Keep momentum going after elections by strategically scheduling meetings and activities.
•    Partner with a variety of community organizations and businesses for more effective goal achievement.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
