Our vision is for Mid City West Community Council to become recognized as the center for local community discussion and action in influencing local government in our lives.
1. Increase stakeholder active participation in Mid City West.
2. Increase impact of Mid City West on government responsiveness and public policy making.
3. Increase the physical presence of Mid City West in the community through outreach events, neighborhood purpose grants, and community
improvement projects.
4. Expand and improve stakeholder outreach through electronic media.
5. Create a Mid City West brand.
• Use technology to make Mid City West meetings more engaging and
• Publicize board vacancies broadly
• Create an online directory of community organizations in the MCW
area linked to their websites
• Invite leaders of community organizations to briefly address the
board at general board meetings
• Convey MCW’s positions on council legislation through Community
Impact Statements
• Provide feedback on major city administrative initiatives
• Partner with city agencies to increase responsiveness of city to
neighborhood concerns
• Advocate/make progress on key MCW-led initiatives
• Engage in comprehensive planning efforts for Mid City West and the central region
• Successfully execute a Mid City West community engagement event each quarter (e.g. Park(ing) Day, Drought Tolerant Garden Tour, community forum on ballot measures, summer movie night)
• Ensure board attendance and/or table at all major community events (e.g. National Night Out, LAPD Open House, LAFD Station 62 Pancake
• Have board members attend meetings of community organizations
as Mid City West representatives
• Complete a new website that is easy to navigate, informative, and engaging
• Expand Mid City West’s reach on major social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Nextdoor, and Instagram
• Regularly produce an email newsletter to tell the Mid City West story
• Seek input from board and stakeholders about what it means to be a Mid City West stakeholder
• Create a Mid City West slogan and accompanying graphic to be used for promotional purposes

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quick Base often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quick Base finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quick Base needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
